For the 2023 edition of Girls Day at the university, the optimization and artificial intelligence groups at IMACM designed an interactive and entertaining mathematics and computer science program with a lot of relevance to everyday life.

We continue the IMACM interdisciplinary, weekly seminar "Analysis and Numerics of port Hamiltonian Systems" with internal and external speakers in the summer term 2023. The first talk will be by Merlin Schmitz on May 10.

Hanno Gottschalk celebrated his departure from Wuppertal on March 31 with a down-to-earth party ("we'll leave the speeches alone"). On April 1, 2023, he will move to the TU Berlin to take up a professorship in the field of "Mathematical Modeling of Industrial Life Cycles" with a focus on digitization for the Werner von Siemens Centre for Industry and Science.

Together with colleagues Luigi Amedeo Bianchi and Stefano Bonaccorsi, both from the University of Trento, and Martin Friesen (Dublin City University, formerly Wuppertal), IMACM member Barbara Rüdiger organized this winter school. It was funded by the Italian Dipartimento di Eccellenza project.
